Description: Complete renovation of existing lobby, restaurant, meeting rooms and fitness area
Through the competitive bid process, UCI was selected as General Contractor for the renovation of the existing hotel lobby and restaurant. Of particular challenge on this project was the fact that the phasing of the work to accommodate the hotel and guests. Much of the work was done off hours and nights. Meeting/Pre-function rooms were upgraded to flooring, custom light fixtures, wall covering, millwork, framing alterations, etc. Reception/Concierge Areas included heavy demolition, reframing for new layout, new lighting, ceilings , custom millwork, reclaimed millwork, wall coverings and painting. Coopers Mill Restaurant included a full conversion of this space to include full demolition, extensive MEP upgrades, re-framing for new layout. Finishes in this space were extremely high end to include: reclaimed millwork custom countertops, new bar area, VIP area, new custom tile work throughout, custom doors/glazing, wall coverings, and fixtures. The Fitness Center consisted of a conversion of indoor pool to fitness center. Scope of work included: demolition/infill, extensive framing, MEP upgrades for service/equipment. New flooring, millwork, wall covering. This project was done as design build from an MEP stance, in order to help control costs for the client and ensure the project happened as the client had an extremely tight budget.
